bought a wrecked 97 black civix lx .. 5 speed...with only 19k original miles on the whole car
front passenger side crunched up a little....but having an uncle that runs a bodyshop..well worth my $1600 investment for the car anyways, since i have a 00 civic lx as a daily driver.. I'll go all out on this car as for as mods go....starting with the engine I want to do a mini me swap....does anyone have a website with detailed information ... as far what head to use ....what intake... which engine series headgasket.....should i go with the regular gasket.. or the new perma torque...I want to nitrous at some point ...what pistons, rods etc are the economical choice...but will do the job that I need and any suggestions on clutch upgrades? and would anyone recommend replacing the half-shafts(cv-shafts) with higher hp rated ones? and where can i find the information on brake upgrades. |

why not just replace the whole motor? You will only spend a little more, and not have to worry about reliability. You will undoubtably run into OBD2 issues on your lx.
www.hondaswap.com has a good article on Mini-me swaps but it was written for the CRX.

why swap the whole engine when the internals only have 19k on them... a head-swap is e-a-s-y ..I just need the parts information.
and the 97 is obd2 already...right? |

There is an obd2a and obd2b, I believe. I think the 96-99 are the 'a' and the rest are 'b'. Not completely sure, but you should check into it before spending any $$ on the swap. Good luck.

You will have to replace the ECU, distributor and header. Add all that $$ up and you will damn close to a whole motor.
