I was wondering if anybody had any experience with putting a b20 into a CRX, or knows whats involved in doing it. The CRX is in extremely bad shape. The engine is a complete scrap, the interior is stripped down to nothing, the suspension is totally shot. So a total overhaul is in order no matter what engine I put in there.

I would actaully do a b20 with a Vtec head, don't know if that will make a difference. Sorta the wrong forum, but since I brought it up, any ideas on what head would work best on the b20 block?

Well. There you have it.

check this out....
you go and do that b20 vtec...
you will be satisfied.
i know this kid...
b20 block. je 12:5:1 pistons
b16a head. ported polished dual springs valves titanium retainers.
i/h/e
in a 91 si rex
consistent 12.1 on the motor...
i got a b20 vtec at the machinist....cant wait till i get it back

i think that you should do that swap...the word on the street is that its dope!

u will be satisfied.
if u want any more info...let me know
the swap is simple....same as a b16 or b18 in a rex or ef hatch...
same mounts. all u gotta modify is the shift linkage. u gotta cut and weld the trans ends to your stock ends at the shifter. then u gotta run an oil line from the oil pressure sending switch on the back of the block to the vtec solenoid on the head. run two wires from the solenoid to the ecu(which u already bought to accomodate vtec. a pr3 or pwo ecu is best)
i suggest help from someone who has done this b4..there are some things that are kinda tricky about mating that block to that head....GOOD LUCK DUDE!

I actually sell completed ls/vtec and b20/vtecs with everything you need for an ef swap if thats the way you want to go. They are bad ass swaps, the b20/vtec is a monster depending on how much a build you involve. The ls/vtec that i sell are a litlle more than the b20/vtec because I change the rod ratio and bottom end components to support high revs.I can build any custom configuration engines as well. A basic b20/vtec and installation products will run you $3500 plus shipping. That is everything you need to put this in a 88-91 crx or civic engine, tranny, ecu, mounts, linkage, extra wiring harness for vtec, and the proper hoses for your radiator.I cover everything and include a little guide book for installation and breakin. If you have any ??? ask.
I hope this helps

I thought the b20's were pretty good candidates for a turbo?

how different is the exhaust mani configuration (bolt pattern, port size/pattern)on a b20 from other readily accessible turbo mani's/kits out there (d16, b16, etc)? Or are there b20 turbo mani's/kits available?

I want b20 turbo power in my civic coupe!

heh, I want to do the same (B20 turbo) but the civic will just have to be happy sucking on a bottle till I get my 240sx.
