Ok...

so we tried to start it up this morning... (man i wish it was warmer out there)

anyway, it wont start. problem being that i have no spark. the JDM prelude has an internal coil. i checked and there is power going into the dist/coil. there isnt even any spark coming out of the coil. short of cutting a wire i wasnt supposed to, shouldnt i at least get spark out of the coild no matter what?!?!?!?!?

so, if anyone here has any idea of what i could do to make this work, please let me know. anything. or if you have guesses to whats wrong....

Joshua

oh, and does anyone know where to find exactly what pins to go what 'thing' on the ecu? i have a helms, but i have yet to find a table like that in it.

thanks

Not to answer in a Noob fashion, but if you have power going TO your coil, but no spark, I would guess that you have a bad coil, or the distributor isn't spinning.
What wire did you cut that you shouldn't have?

noob style is ok. who knows, it could be something simple. what i mean is that the dist and the coil are all one unit. the coil is inside. well i have power going into the combined unit. but i have no power going essentially from the coild to the rotor. as to wires that i could have cut... well i dont know for sure. i followed the swap guides i have read, didnt cut anything else. thats why im trying to find out what exactly each pin is for. then i can see if the guides were right.

werd, eric knows about the wiring being all f-ed up. Triple check it, sometimes there is so much you get overwelmed and you make stupid little mistakes, if this tries, you go over it and get someone with some automotive experience and have them check it over for you, another set of eyes is always good. Then crank her up and see if she goes...

Vash, I was thinking about your problem last night. And...My question to you is, why didnt you invest in the conversion harness. Wiring an ECU is not for the novice. If it would have been me doing the swap i would have sent my Harness away for the conversion and paid the additonal 300 bucks. Something you might wanna look into, it will make your life a little easier, plus your motor should fire up guarenteed. I know what your thinking: "Why spend 300 bucks on something I can do?" But look at it this way, if something fucks up, you have someone to blame.
