I painted some of my interior pieces, including the vents themselves. I'm deciding if I should "de-blue" my car, meaning take out everything that was blue, meaning removing the blue paint from my interior pieces.
Since the paint is in hard to reach areas on the vents and stuff, I was wondering if there was a solution or something that makes it extremely easy to remove the paint and clear coat. Something I could dip the pieces in and then be able to simply wipe away the paint with little effort, perhaps? And if not what is the correct way to remove paint from the plastic pieces? Thanks.

Just a suggestion i would go with paint thinner... and then clean them off with a rag.. then clean them with soap & water to get off any left over paint thinner residue.

![]() Strypeeze. This stuff is some serious shiz. Just dump some onto a cloth and Wax on, Wax off. Dude, this stuff can erase time. If you get some on your finger it will be erased from existance. It's pretty strong! This is the easiest and fastest way to wipe off paint. It takes seconds. You can buy it at any hardware store for like five bucks.

It all sounds well and good, but does anyone know if paint thinner would fade the original grey color off of my interior pieces? I heard it did.
Also, Strypeeze, I've done a little reading and it only mentions removing paint from wood and metal. Have you used this before on plastic and how if so how did it come out? Any other ideas on how to remove this paint would be great.

I've used it on fiberglass, wood, and plastic. And thinner shouldn't hurt either, I've used that too. It just takes a little longer and is more expensive, but after re-reading your post you mentioned that you want to dip pieces, so thinner is actually a better route because strypeeze is a gel.

I would hit up the junkyard and look for replacements like was stated b4....you may not get all the paint off.

im thinking you might fudge up the origional clear finish on the plastic pieces. im thinking your best route might be like said above, go to the junkyard and get some new stuff.... good luck.
