Well I stuck a paint can w/ my old motor oil in the back of my trunk wrapped in plastic. Well the bass from my stereo system (im guessing) let the oil seep out of the top of the paint can and since garbage bags is a made from petroleum that did no good. So I have 2 liters of oil in my trunk and a ruined trunk mat.

What do you guys use to replace the trunk mat (plyboard, cardboard, etc?)

Thanks.
Azn

My car didn't come with anything in the trunk, so I cut three pieces of particle board. Put one on each side and made one for the center. I Just carpeted them with speaker box carpet. You could also just recarpet the piece that you have if the board is ok. Another option would be to make a new piece like you have with a thin masonite and carpet that.

To get the carpet material, try Jo-Ann Fabrics. They're prices are very good. I bought my speaker box material from there.

If you don't have one near you, call their number at 888-739-4120, and just ask one of the reps for the carpet-style material. Let her know what you're using it for, and they'll know what it's called.

If you order by Wed. 7/30, and the order is more than $25, use promotion code FSE731 for free shipping.

Good luck!

Lol, naw man. They're about 5 mins. from me, and it was the only place nearby not tring to ass-rape me for the maerial. I also bought that polypropylene there at $6 a bag I think. It's the same crap Crutchfield sells for $20 a bag!

well. I went to Jo-Ann's and they had felt/"carpet material". and then went to lowes to buy some thin plywood and so far so good. It looks clean as hell but the felt is a little darker than my speaker box, oh well. I'm going to get some plexiglass for the middle for the spare and neons :P .
