Ok, so I'm planning on redoing my entire interior. Right now I have a green civic with beige interior and...well...I hate it. I know this is hard to keep clean but I want to do an almost white interior with black carpeting. I've seen this before and I thought it looked nice. Just looking for all your opinions as to whether I should paint, do it all in vinyl and so forth. Also I know a lot of you recommend vinyl, that being the case is it hard to do? expensive? Just your opinions please
BTW - Please no hating on the idea.

def go vinyl on the peices that are already upholstered with something because u don't want the paint to crack. And if u end up painting the trim pieces make sure u do a Awesome job and take your time. If you do not feel confident with painting. Then I suggesst that you get it done by a pro. Not only is white hard to keep clean but it makes a HUGE glare on your winshield during the day making it very difficult to see. And the vinyl you could do your self on the pieces just make sure it is smooth and staple it to the back. I would get the seats proffessionaly done. Around here a seat cost around 175 to do.

a friend of mine that just recently joined the car club im in, spent like 6g's getting his interior completely rewrapped in vinyl. way too much money for my taste, but it did come out awesome. not one piece inside was left untouched.

use vinyl for everything. Get the sticky vinyl to do the dash and all trim. It's not that hard just need time ahd a hair dryer. And when you get tired of it you can just rip it off. When you have painted parts you'll never get your stock pieces back to normal.

I buy mine at a sign shop. But any place that makes graphics for cars will have it.

If I were to do the work my self, about how much would it be to wrap everything in vinyl? In a sedan that is. Everything including dash, paneling, fabric panels (not floor carpet or seats). Also what about the steering wheel? Seats I'm going to have redone in leather (not feeling the sitting on vinyl) and carpet.. well..duh, of course that won't be vinyl

if you didi it all yourself, Just FYI you would have to use faberic vinyl for anything the faberic panels. But if you did everything yourself and didn't mess anything up. it would cost about $200 for the vinyl. With $20 i did my Custom TV housing all inner door handle trims and all heating vents and locks. The biggest thing is pratice. you are goingt o need to learn how to strech the stuff the right way so you don't get and folds or kinks. Because once you have a kink you will never get it out and have to redo the whole panel. I also have a 4 door. Trust me it's alot of work. And i think we have the same color cars Cypress pearl green clear coat (CPGCC) with tan interior.

If you really wanto do it then go right ahead but let me just telly ou from experience...that glare is insane!!.
The vinyl wrapping is not easy, I did my 4 doors on my old sedan a while back and it took a loong time if you dont know what youre doing, I ended up having to take them to the upholstering guy and got raped hard! the paint will be the biggest pain in your ass, no matter what that bitch will not stay clean, I took a bit over a yr to get it all done right just working on the weekends and unless you are really carefull that paint will most def. crak. I'm not flaming you or anything I just know that that is not the best thing to do to your car, especially if this car is your daily driver. either way, good luck to ya' --esteban |
