Alright, I know most of you don't like the idea of painting your interior pieces. Unfortunately I already did that a few years ago (nothing tacky just accented a few more pieces with black. Problem is that over time the paint has started to chip and peel. Has anyone tried this new fusion paint by krylon yet? Saw the commercial for it and thought maybe I might try that to fix my error. What do y'all think?

Its awesome I have used just about every spray paint out there this stuff is the shit. It has prob the best most even sprayer on it and the paint almost never runs even if u cake it. But don't do that anyway. And they make special blends for different substances. For instance the plastic krylon it actually chemically bonds to plastic to NEVER come off. I am telling you great spray paint.

Does Krylon offer a "color shifting" paint like Duplicolor does?
If they do and it's that kf style, I think we've got a winner. ![]() My painter took out the interior: dash, shift console, door moldings, etc from his 53 Belair and sprayed them with that dc red-to-blue ish . . it was sooo good that I thought he'd mixed it up custom and had sprayed it out of his gun! I can't believe how good rattle cans are getting now adays! |

yes it offers the colorshift paint and it even comes in a little kit. The stuff is the shit. I wish they had better colors for the shift though. Who the fuck thought purple to green to gold would be a cool color shift? Oh well.

Killer news! If they offer red-to-blue, I'd be all set, lol That shift is great imo.
Well, I guess that's all folks! ![]() |

just a side note...if you're painting plastic you should use an adhesion promoter first. it looks just like a can of clear spray paint. the brand i bought was called Bulldog. they have it at pep boys, and probably at autozone too (in the paint cabinet of course).

I thought the whole point to this paint was to chemically bond to the plastic. I would think that wouldn't work that way if it's being sprayed on to the promoter. I'm sure it would work that way, but kinda defies the whole point in buying fusion

yes you don't need an adhesive promoter for this paint. Just sand the pieces degrease it with some mineral spirits and wipe the mineral spirits off with some denatured alcahol, then make sure its dry then just start painting.
