Did you guys get the entire rear windshield tinted? (Including the third brake light area). Is that possible for the tinters? I know my brother's WRX has a removable 3rd brake light so it was no problem, but the Civic one is part of the deck. I was trying to remove the entire trunk deck lid (the area with the speakers and the 3rd brake light) but I can't get it off. Any tips on how to do it? I am getting my car tinted tomorrow morning
.Thanks

Most car tint shops will not tint that part at least here in Houston, I actually got into an agrument with the tint-shop because they would not do it even thought I was getting the top-of the line tint back when I had my sedan, I guess you could take the deck off but that is a bitch and It would not be worth it.
Some times if you ask them befor hand they may do it but there may be some rstriction in you city/state regarding a covered up 3rd brake light so???? |

you ever considered tinting your windows normal like and then after the fact paint the 3rd brake light housing black so that way it is a lil less noticable. Thats what I plan to do.

That light has to be able to come out somehow... How would you replace the bulb.. I would take it out myself before I took it to get tinted.

Well, you can replace the bulb inside the trunk. The 3rd brake light housing doesn't come off, but there is a little piece between the housing and the glass that looks to be detacable. There are 2 screws that hold it tight inside the trunk. I unscrewed them but it's still tight
. Hrmmm..

Oh yea, it shouldn't be illegal cause they did my bro's WRX recently, and they took the time to take off the 3rd brake light to tint in that area.
I just went to Tint N' Tune, but it looks like they went out of business. Anyone know any good tint shops in the dallas area?

What you will have to do is take off the rear deck lid. (that covers your 6x9's) the rear light housing is attached to that. Then they should tint the whole window. Let me know if you need pic taking it off. It isn't hard but i took pic when i did my to install my new speakers.
FYI On 6th gen (9698) and 6.5 gen(99-00) and have a brake light you don't have to use the one in the rear window. Factory honda wiht LED wings don't use the window brake light. |

If you have a pic that would be great. I tried taking it off yesterday, but the side panels overlap ontop of a section of the lid so I'd end up having to take that off unless you know of an easier way.
If you have the factory wing does the 3rd brake light just sit there and do nothing?
