i have a 91 dx and i thought msd converted the distributer to have an external coil am i wrong

Nope. I'm pretty sure that you're right. I've never done it but I've heard of a few people that have.
You'll just have to make a place for the coil wire to rout through. At least that's what I remember. |

ya u can buy the set up for 40 buck thats 4 the dizzy cap,,,and a rule of thumb is that msd do not make more hp its just make a better spark ,so before u go spend $$$$$ on a 6aL and coil do some reserch and so do u really need it..your stock ing will do fine on a n/a motor that does not have high comp..now dont get me wrong they do work for diff app.. like if u foul out plugs it will help produce a hotter spark...s
