Here is the deal:

When i had my swap done (DOHC ZC) i had to get a new downpipe for it.Got the motor in and the SI Down pipe on but it was about 2" short from meeting up with the cat. I ended up just pulling it to meet, but would like to make it fit right. My question is when i have my custom header made up, should i make it longer.I also plan on gettting a high flow cat as well.Any suggestions are helpful.

Corey . . I had the same problem last week.
The rex I got had a custom turbo setup on it and an exhaust built all around it. When I bought my "jdm" header for it, I had about 4" too much. I tried to pull everything as well but no luck. I ended up having to remove the exhaust and chop off the "extra" pipe needed for a perfact fit.

If I were you, I'd most def. have the down pipe on your custom setup made an extra few inches so that you aren't yanking anything out of place from were it should be.

If you add the extra leangth to it 1st, you'll know that everything is were it needs to be once it's all bolted up. That way, it's as factory as possible.

Good luck man!

This is true as well Core. There is one on my ride and the pipes def. had to be modified in length.

So would a high flow ct be worth it if i have to hack and weld?
Damn by time i am done the exhaust from the motor back will be custom!
I'm gonna need to take the exhaust manifold off and see what the header guy can do for me...see if i can get it made about 2" longer.
