Hey guys,
I was wondering if you could help me choose which intake and manifold to buy. I have a 96 hb with a gsr engine swap (like many of you have, i suppose). I was wondering which would be better: an aem CAI or SRI or even the new V2 CAI. Also, which manifold would be better: the Skunk2 or the JG one? Give me your suggestions. Thanks |

I would go with a regular AEM CAI, the V2 isn't worth the money. As far as manifolds go, I would go with a Skunk2. It's more suited to a mild NA build, where the JG is more suited for boosted applications, and extreme NA setups. If you end up getting an aftermarket manifold, you'll have to get a different intake. The throttle body sits lower on the OEM GSR manifold than the Skunk2/JG.

Thanks for the reply, I was really leaning towards the skunk2 manifold.
Hey, anyone tell me the difference between difference between the CAI and SRI? I know the general difference. I just want to know which one would be easier to install and give better results in my hatchback. If anyone has the same hatchback as mine, please tell me which one is the better intake. Thanks |

You'll be better off with a CAI...colder air is better.

CAI > SRI
I have the same setup as you bro, 1996 HB with GSR motor. I used the AEM CAI from a 99-00 Civic Si. I also had short ram intake before I put the CAI on. I did notice a small, but better increase in power. Not like a huge difference but it does have a little more power. As far as installation goes, its easy. Dont be lazy cause CAI takes about 10 more minutes to put on. They are both easy to install. I had more problems taking the stock crap off than the AEM. *EDIT* Did not know this thread was so old. My bad. |
