Those are some nice parts there.. deffinatly liking the piston design.. Nice amount of area before the first ring which is a real weak spot with alot of designs.[/b]
Definitely. Hopefully the taller ring pack means it will be a lot more stable than the last set of pistons... I was really disappointed when those went up in smoke.

so how do those new connecting rods connect to the crankshaft?
Like normal connecting rods? Mount them up and bolt them down?

He had rollerwaves before I believe. This is a better piston. Importbuilders is a VERY good shop, and they are affiliated with Mike's shop of Intercrew if I'm not mistaken.

i believe mike decided their skirt design wasn't a good choice for a daily driver.

Trust me- they come apart. The Eagles have been used, so they're already separated... but yeah, the machining on rods is typically precise enough that it's hard to see the split when they're new.

1: Too much backlash from Larry telling me that it was my fault and not a design issue that the pistons failed... but then someone else who had their engine built with the same parts, but different builder and machine shop had the exact same failure after only a few thousand miles also.

2: Larry didn't have any 85.5mm pistons in stock- this was really the only thing we could find in that size and compression ratio.

3: CP >>>> Wiseco

4: These are lighter than the Rollerwaves, retain the standard LS geometry, have a taller ring pack, longer skirts etc.... superior design, at least in my opinion. We'll see.

Sort of. Jeff (IB) has worked with Phillip (IC) before- but very seldom. They know each other and are friends, but they're not really affiliated. Phillip still thinks that Jeff is crazy for buying a dyno just because he wanted to try out tons of different parts... but it's a good kind of crazy.

I decided that they were good when I bought them initially... but I found out by trial and error, I guess you could say- that they weren't good. Confirmation from the other guy who had his engine built in Austin was only more proof that my hunch was right- those pistons aren't streetable. They'll probably last long enough for a race season, but I don't know about street driving.
