Here are some pictures of my new pistons and rods from last week. They're at the machine shop right now with the block...

The pistons are made by CP, and are from Import Builders. The static compression in my new engine setup will be 12.77:1. The coatings are by Swain Technology. The tops are coated with their Thermal Barrier Coat, and the skirts are done with their low friction PC-9 coating.

The rods are Import Builders' "Ultralite" rods- which in reality are Probe Ultralite rods. They're about 15-20% lighter than the Eagle H beam rods.

Here come the pics:

Pistons:

Rods, Eagle vs new Probe (Eagle = H beam, Probe = I beam)

Both... CP makes some of the lightest/strongest pistons out there. Notice that the top drag racers are using CP- Lisa Kubo and a few others. The coatings will help make more power by keeping combustion temperature up and promoting a more even burn. When the time comes for headwork, I'll be coating the combustion chambers too.

The geometry is a lot closer to stock too. No funny rod angle stuff, and the skirts are a little better- along with the taller structure of the ring pack- these pistons should be more stable than the second set of Rollerwaves that I had.

Thanks! I think they look pretty sweet too... and you're right- they'll be damn ugly the next time I see them. Er... the first time. I didn't take these pictures- Alex did. I'll never see the pistons unless something goes wrong.

Very nice. I've seen some of swain's work and it is very nice. Jet Coat also does good work.
