i recently got new shocks/struts/springs/clutch/flywheel installed. all aftermarket. now im thinking aobut some cams. heres the question. on a 2nd gen jdm b16a, what type of power gain should i expect from CTR cams? ive been looking, but havnt found anything. dont want to spend a crap load of cash, and i dont want to upgrade valves, springs, etc. worth the $ for ctr cams?

thanks.

stock type r motors came with dual springs all the way around. If you just throw a set of ctr or itr cams in and dont at least upgrade to dual springs all the way around your going to end up causing float. And regardless of the fact, if your running on a stock b16 ecu you wont even realize the major differences in the cams. you might gain a little bit but not nearly as much as you would if you had the ability to tune it to those cams. remember all motors are different and require tuning to actually realize power gains.

Actually, I beg to differ. I have known alot of people running GSR's throw in a set of ITR cams and a VAFC and gain almost 20-30whp. It does make a BIG difference if you can tune the cams (Cam gears) and map the fuel with it (VAFC) you dont need to upgrade your valvetrain with a CTR/ITR cam upgrade.
