I have been reading in on cams for my little D and will be buying the ZEX street/strip cam with valve springs in the next couple days. Besides the soon to be cam I have I/H/E flywheel and stage 1 clutch and a Y8 head gasket. I was just wondering what kind of power I might be putting down and what kind of 1/4 times I can expect. Also, on 93/94 octane, what kind of timing advance would I benefit from. I know these are noobish questions, but I do not have access to a dyno or track. I am guessing that I could be around 140whp? Any insight would be awesome... thanks.

well the cam gives you a peak gain of 11hp and 9lbs of tq. Midrange power gain of 7hp and 2lbs of tq. Don't believe? Here read for yourself. http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0102it_zex/index.html

That is the street cam thought right? The one I am looking at is the street/strip cam. Will the one I am looking a significant increase in hp/tq than the street cam? I am not looking at bumping the compression up anymore until late this coming summer and I haven't been able to find anything telling how well the cam performs to redline on stock internals. Does anybody have experience with this cam? Any insight on to how the cam will perform at redline would be nice because I wanna know how much I can advance the timing.

i hate to bring this back..but never ever buy somthing baseed off mags..the mag does not make money off u buying it it makes money off advertisers(ie)zex aem nos.so on,,so in order to keep them happy and to keep money in there pockets they will give that product the highest hp rating ..and u the cosumer will fall for it u just been traped when u just found out that aem cold air cost u 5 hp instead of gaining hp..the best way to buy somthing is to use good ol sense..if some one eles bought it and it works cool and yall have almost the same motor set up cool give it a try...i think thats the best way to get the most bang 4 the buck.
