Total seal rings just aren't nearly as good as OEM or CP/Hastings. Everyone I know that has used Total Seal has gotten far less than a total seal.

I personally would go with a set of wiesco forged pistons and some nice forged rods, oem headgasket, and crower parts in the head. When i was running in i had crower stage 2 cams, crower titanium retainers, crower twin spring valve springs, and ferrea 1mm over stainless stell valves. i loved that setup, created awesome power, it wasn't cheap but in the end was deff worth the money.

CP or OEM pistons are great. Dont mill the head too much, just enough to clean it up. OEM headgaskets are the best, the thin ones are FOR RACE CARS that rebuild after each race or so. And also like stated above your leak could easily be valve seals, head gasket etc, maybe not the pistons or rings. Be sure you have the cash for tuning and some more fuel(fpr, injectors, pump etc) and some management(hondata, Crome, uberdata etc). As high of compression as a say ctr piston with a milled head in a gsr is too high for pump gas, and you will pop the motor before you know it on a stock tune. I recommend USDM ITR pistons or 11.5 to 1 CP for a GSR. And OEM or CP rings are great, havnt had very good luck with total seal(they should be called barely seal lol) but I do know plenty of heads who love em To each his own |

Well, its been a while since i've been on here but i no longer need to build my gsr motor or worry about burning oil because i sold my coupe and just finished my type s swap into my new hatch, k series baby! talk about a world of difference from a b series, i'll tell ya if you can get the cash together to do this swap, go for it, and it really wasn't much harder than a b series swap
