Throttle body and pulleys won't do anything. Header, exhaust, camshaft...once you get past that, intake manifold, throttle body, ported head. Your best bet would be a motor swap.

Just my opinion, but with the money you'll be spending for a few n/a hp in your d16, you could put towards say a homemade turbo kit and get around 200whp.

Very true- but he said that he doesn't want to go inside the engine.

agreed if you dont want mad crazy hp just get a bolt on turbo set up, they are fairly in expensive and you can make good hp. one thing is if you want to keep n/a, is a lot of people are using vitara pistons and ls rods.

Or you can always make a 1.7 stroker like the one they had in Honda tuning as well.

Thumbs up Re: I want some power

the cost-dollar ratio for stroking a civic to 1.7 is MINIMAL. you could probably get better bang for the buck with an exhaust.

but if you're looking to add some horsepower but also want the reliability of a DD. swap. it's the only answer. it can provide 200hp (b18c1 type r engine) at the crank w/ no other mods. i would say you could hit 200whp with a fair amount of tuning full exhuast and a couple other mods. although that runs 4 grand easy.

you also have to think about other parts of the car if you do a swap though. maybe some 4-drum brakes to help stop the 200hp monster you just built. front sway bar etc. this is not something to be taken lightly. if you want to swap talk to other people who have done swaps in the past and see what they have to say.
