Cool Titanium Retainers or not

Ok im new to this forum and i was wondering whether i need titanium retainers or not. I have a d16z6 stock lower end except for king crank and rod bearings and for the head im putting over size valves, cam and valve springs in it and i dont plan on going over the stock rev limiter 7200 rpm. Well maybe a little over when I chip the ecu, maybe like 7800 rpm. Do I really need to spend the extra money or would i be wasting it.

You don't need them at all. If you were to do a hefty build on the motor to make some serious power then you would. The biggest problem with titanium retainers is that they do need to be changed. Mine are replaced ever five thousand miles, though i have a fully built and turboed motor. I need them for what i have. Because your staying nearly stock for the rev if you were to get skunk2 springs and retainers would be just fine.
