As most of you probably know i have a 92 LX w/ a 95 d15b7 motor and when i let off the clutch in first gear the rpms get low and it sounds like it is knocking sort of. I would like to know what this sound is so i can fix it or if it is normal. Thanks ya'll.

Sounds like it's knocking sort of? Do you think you could be a little more specific?

Sounds like you're just not giving it enough gas when you let off the clutch... could you be more specific though?

Its kinda hard to explain but it sounds like the valves are clicking. I know its not the lifters. It comes out of my intake. Thats about as good as I can explain it.

I really don't know... my hunch would have been that your engine is bogging when you go into gear...

It's probably not the same but my car makes a knocking around 2500 RPM usually the most obnoxious on decel. It turned out to be a rod knock. Very sad

I would assume you're getting some clutch chatter from not giving it enough gas and bogging it. Otherwise, it could be a heat shield rattle.
