ALL RIGHT HERE IT IS. I HAVE A 95 DEL-SOL B1.6A2 MOTOR IN A 95 HATCH.
DC 4-1 HEADER, TANABBE SRM SYSTEM. AND THE MSD SCI-PLUS IGNITION BOX. NO NOS OR TURBO. AND I HAVE TO PASS AZ STATE EMISSIONS. NOW IF I'M RIGHT THE JDM MOTORS RUN RICH SO. I WAS THINKING OF LEANING IT THE FU*K OUT BUT HOW SHOULD I DO IT. OR IF ANY ONE HAS A BETTER WAY. THANKS |

second, leaning the fuel too much and KABOOM!! detonation. thrid i recommend running your car till its warm until right before inspection/testing, that way your exhaust and engine are fully warmed up.. more likey to pass with a questionable motor. hope that helps.

JDM's run slightly richer, but not enough to screw you up for emmissions. The problem that you can run into with JDM motors with emissions is that they don't run as clean and are missing components that are only necessary in America. But if your catalytic converter is good and you've got a good 02 sensor you should be ok.
Emissions test fumes from your tail pipe, everything else in the inspection is just safety. So as long as your stuffs in good shape you should be fine. Unless AZ is very strict- that I can't speak for cause I don't know. |
