Ok, my friend's girlfriend has a 93 fully loaded civic 2-door LX w/ a D15B7...

He calls me today to come over and help him figure out what's wrong, he had an ECU code, tried to check it but the light never flashed, it just stayed lit. When he goes to crank it, it clicks, but doesn't turn over at all. Popped the hood and listened, and just hear a faint spinning (starter i'm guessing). I checked the ignition coil, terminals, battery, alternator, fuses, and it's all working. All lights come on, just doesn't crank.. He had the starter checked out at an autoparts store and it works fine, I'm guessing starter solenoid, but I want someone else's advice.

Oh, and one more question. I myself have a 92 DX hatch that's going to be getting a B20 vtec soon, and my rear wheel bearings are going bad, my friend has a severly beaten 88 DX in his yard and the rear wheel bearings are still good, can they be reused into a 92?

Any answers would be helpful.

btw, I'm Allen, not new to Hondas, just new to self-diagnosing problems.

As for your friends ride . . I'll let the guru's handle this one.

As for your ride . . I'm not so sure.

88-91 has a dif. factory part # than the 92-95's. Trial and error. :shrugging:

If you checked the charging system and everyhting is alright and the starter is fine maybe you want to check the connections leading to the startermaybe you have a bad contact somewhere. Just for sh*ts and giggles take a ratchet to the crankshaft and sees if you can get a couple full turns out of it. If you can't then you know what your problem is and if you can then I am guessing you have a short somewhere and that could prove to be a nightmare.
