Engine Types

I have been looking at this site and the honda tech site now for almost 3 weeks searching searching searching for the nomaclature of the engine that is in the new civic. along with various other tech oriented sites. I'm no mechanic but I muddle around a bit.
What I have found is... it is a 1.7l 115 hp/110 torque soch. and I got that off of the sales sheet.
Perhaps there is a site that I have missed explaining all of this but all of the googling that I have done has not led me there yet. There is plenty of information on engine types of all cars prior to 2000, but as of yet I have not found any info on cars built after 2002.
