To all the knowledgeable audio freaks out there, i just bought a crunch 2 ch 100W amp and 2 6x9 kenwood speakers for 15 bucks... good deal uh?? what i am trying to do here is hook them up to my existing sound system that came standard with a 01 Civic Ex Coupe which is 4 speakers with 2 tweeters.. I want to use the 2 6x9 like a sub.. since they are mini subs... help me out here since i have not a clue on where to start... help would very much appreciated.. thx !!killertofu!! |

Well first you have to run wires from your stereo to your amp. Then you need to run wires from the speakers to the amp. You can go to best buy/ circuit city for amp wires, I think you can get some for like 40$.

Thx for the heads up, i do have all the wirings but i am confused about which wires go to which plug? where do i get power for the amp??

you have to run power from the battery. you should buy a amp install kit at circuit city or where ever you choose. that way it has most everything you need. now if you have the stock cd player, you wont have the RCA outputs so you dont need RCA cables. you can ask someone down there how to do it, but youll have to use your speaker wires as the audio input on your amp. kinda hard to explain on here.

well, i am trying to install the 2 6x9 and replace the stock 6x9 in the back... one thing is. i can't get to the stock one... i don't know how to take the top off.. the speakers are screwed in place and the top latch just won't come off...

i know on my 6th gen you have to take the back seat out, to take the 2 side panels off, to finally take the top deck off to get the speakers out. not what you wanted to hear, but its gotta be done!

Thx for all the help, actually i found a website thats showed me how to do it... its good.. got pics and all.. hopefully this can help the other people out there...
