Usually a bad 02 sensor will cause the check engine light to come on.

if anything an intake and header will cause the car to run leaner, like i said, if anything at all...it is a possibility that your o2 sensor is going out...or plugged. if the o2 sensor is clogged up it may not throw a cel. an inefficient cat might cause black smoke also.

i dont think its the o2 sensor because most likly the check engine light would come on. besides that, try the cat, or get it checked out for a secound opinion..

black smoke is unburned fuel coming out of your exhause, usually this is a timing issue, i wouldnt buy any other replacement parts until you get your timing checked, it might have jumped a tooth or just might not be timed right. Check your timing, then go from there, because even with a gutted catalytic converter, you shouldnt be running really rich like that. o2's might be the cause but they wouldnt cause your car to run that rich. Check your timing first.

with the timing belt only one tooth off i doubt it would puff smoke... weve had people bring their cars to us that were like 2 or three teeth off and idled fine...just wouldnt rev. however your dizzy timing might be off...hes right about that one.
