i have an 88 civic hb and has d16z6 motor swap...since i got the car the ignition timing has been retarted...ive brought it to the shop but they cant time it because the distributor has been modified and they tell me to get the correct distributor...but the distributor does work it just had to be cut....i wanted to know what the stock ignition timing is for my car...the motor came from a 92 civic...please help me...also after i finish driving for a while and i turn off the motor...the car makes a ticking sound...i dont know what it is....ne one have an idea what might be wrong....

when you say retarded to u mean the timing has been retarded or that its just being retarted?? i know stupid question but i didnt really get what you were saying.

about the timing, you will prob have to wait for the pros, but i think the ticking is not abnormal, is just the engine cooling off or something like that. anyone if i'm wrong correct me.

How was the distributor modified? I would think the ticking is ok as long as its not followed by an explosion.

ticking is normal its just the motor cooling down, other than that i couldnt help ya, sorry
