Yeah- I didn't touch anything in the cooling system to install the intake.* Since yours is already messed up, you'll need to drain and refill coolant- but normally you don't have to.
Alright.. right on.. mines not messed up it's just the insulation around the hose.. I was just wondering about this because its one of the steps in their installation manual and I didn't know why.. lol[/b]
Oh, ok- well mine was on an EG and yours is on an EK, so it might still be a little different.

Maybe, but really only if the snow is melting enough to push water into your intake... which will still happen if you get snow stuck in the filter.

Hmmm... this all has me thinking twice about a CAI.. how about individual throttle bodies? I was checking out the one from Toda Racing.. I see it has air horns that draw in the air.. but do they have any sort of air filter to filter out dirt and debris? And are they street legal?

Street legal- technically, they should be. If you want to filter the air, just build a very large plenum around the ITB horns and put a big filter on the end.

CAI are just fine. As long as you use common sence. I've been running one for yearrs and never had any problems. When i know i'm goniot run though a huge puddle i just turn the car off and coast thru it then turn the car back on. No big deal. As long as you not driving thru water thats higher then your hub don't even worry about it. the 6th gen design is awsome. The filter sits in the bumper covered up99% by the umper and the wheel wheel insert. I've never seen a drop of water/rust on my filter ever.
