Hey I'm new here, Just call me Nuke

Anyways, My cousin just gave me his DX hatchback and has no AC, but my other cousin gave him the AC stuff.

The cousin that gave me the DX hasn't installed it (doesn't know how)

So I'm picking it up and need some help to install it.

DX with no AC = HOT IN SUMMER

how about the process of elimination bro.

Let us know what you have, there are waaaaaaaaaaay to many components involved with Air conditioning.

Belts, mounts, interior buttons lol.. Its not an easy job. I highly recommend going to a highly reputable mechanic for this job anyways being the A/C system can be highly expensive if not installed/worked on correctly..just my 02.

Well...what do you mean as in what I have? As in car?

1995 Civic Hatchback DX

Doesn't have much in it =\

Was just wondering how to do.

If a professional was to do, how much would it be?

And if there's any guide, please let me see

no A/C DIY's on here, maybe some people other than me MIGHT know, But the A/C runs off a belt and is powered by the crankshaft pulley.. Do you have this belt? Shit like that you will need..

A mechanic would charge on a average of $600-$700 if YOU brought parts to them, and had ALL of the parts needed.

yeah it will be very expensive... also you'll have to figure out a rigged up switch to turn on the AC. In addition, you'll have to run all the hardlines, which can't be easy.

Good luck bro this is quite the do it yourselfer

yeah man adding ac to a non ac car is a straight PAIN IN THE ASS your gonna need like, lines, evaperator, condenser, dryer, compressor, Fixed orfice tube, a/c cylcing pressure switch, evap temp switch, alot of eletrical componets, it wont be a fun job. plus you have to convert the system to r134a from r12 if you wanna have a shop recharge it.

you can recharge it yourself instead of having a shop do it. i did mine last week for only $12 which included everything needed with some oil and stop leak.
