Hello, Im new to engine modding as well as forums so be easy on me. I just got 98 Civic DX automatic and its really slow. I decided that a mini me swap is the best way to get some decent HP. But I have no idea where to start. I need to know everything I would need to pull this off, Im looking to go from a D16Y7 to a Y8 head and throttlebody. Thanx.

Personally, I would use some juice over the mini me. |

take the 500 bucks and drop a 55 shot in there, you will net alot moe gains then a mini swap. I mean to you really think the extra 20 HP is worth the time and work? Not me.

Do you guys think a turbo would be worth it on a D16Y7, or should I spend the money on an engine swap?

Answer these questions:
1) What are your horsepower/tq and speed goals. 2) How much money do you have to spend 3) Is this your only means of travel |

This IS my only means of travel, im willing to save and invest around 2.5 Grand, and id like to get as much low end horsepower, or tq as possible.

ouch, gonna be tuff to be with out your commuter for a bit. Also for $2,500 You can probably snatch up a B16A, or A GSR used with a bit of mileage.. But if thats including your install I'd wait a bit.
Your average swap will run you roughly $3,000+ , unless of course you have help. |
