well i recently got this car and now im lookin for a swap.....im pretty new to everything and dont know what to do first...auto-> manual or engine ...

well i recently got this car and now im lookin for a swap.....im pretty new to everything and dont know what to do first...auto-> manual or engine swap than auto->manual conversion....please help me and suggest some engines please......95 DX hatchback btw

ask urself these questions
1)How much do i plan to spend?
2)What are my power expectations?
3)Can i do it myself?

theres more but those will get you started, get me some answers to them and ill let you know what kinda motor i think would be perfect for ur ride

il actually probably go for a mini swap and my neighbor is a mechanic who is helping me with the installations....im not lookin to spend too much

-btw what is the stock engine on a 95 hatch dx automatic?

just convert everything all in one. screw the auto. its just gonna be a dissapiontment later. i was gonna say either swap in a LS motor, not too high on price, or just go with like a D16Y8, that would be about the same or a lil cheaper. i say ls, then later add a Vtec head, no its not as easy as just slapping a head on, but cross that road when u get too it. hasport makes a mounting kit i think. biggest project is gonna be converting from auto to 5spd. u can buy full motor kits that come with everything and really simplify the process tho.

i have to agree just save and wait. why pull the motor twice. just do both swaps at once. save yourself from buying 2 tranny's.
