sparkplugs? have you checked your battery charge? I doubt it, but could it not be getting enough fuel? like a fuel pump problem? I am no mechanic, but just trying to help.

I don't know really its my fiances car and he is getting frustrated so I thought might be able to find someone to give me an idea to help him.

He says that if he accelerates really slow its fine but if you accelerate at a normal speed or faster then it sounds like it wants to stall.

He is checking the battery charge now, and he has used fuel injector cleaner or whatever its called. He has replaced the alternator.

If it was a fuel injection issue his throttle would stick at times.. My guess would be to check the plugs and see if hes running to rich, or too lean and go from there. If the spark plugs look straight...

He could try doing a full on tune up. How many miles are on the car etc..? if you can get him to come on here and give us detailed notes it could help alot more in getting to the real issue.

sounds to me like a failing head gasket... is there any white smoke coming out of the exhaust or any overheating problems?

He said their was a little white smoke when he first started but it sat for a bit (like a month or so). But it doesn't do anymore when he does it.

He noticed a small gas leak when he filled it full.

When you accelerate, almost feels like a clogged catalac converter but its not.

i still think that his timing is way off. esp given the age of the car. pull ur plugs, white/gray with a real dry craked look on the ceramic means lean, black and smell like fuel on the tip or covered in deposits means rich as a bitch.
