wish i could aford it, but i was thinking about putting a different cam as a start. i think the rsx type-s has a high speed cam while the si doesn't. honda tuning last month has an si pushing 375 without touching the internals. i might not either. they just had a custom turbo made, but said it was too much power. it had a six pack in it. i wonder how much and where the got it.

dude if ur looking to do tranny work, in particular six speed conversion, u dont have to just use a rsx type s tranny, u can add a sixth gear to ur si tranny, i read about it in a issue of honda tuning a couple of months back. check it out. its a lot cheaper

as for that si, it was the signal auto si, and they also said that it was not streetable at all and was being put back to mainly stock form.they said it would one, not pass smog, and two that it was ridiculously loud. sounds like a track car to me,

the good thing about indiana is i don't have to worry about smog and inspections. i am not wanting as much power as that si had but would like the six pack. if you know what issue of tuner that was i would be interested in checking it out.

its in the July 2005 issue of Honda Tuning, you use direct oem parts to make your 5 and six for the same price of a used type s gear box

woo hoo something i can actually help with:

a 6 speed tranny from an rsx-s will bolt right up to your motor without any major problems with the a3 ecyu tyhings wil work but not for long lol, personally i wouldnt spend the money on a ctr one whent he rsx one is just as good.

You will have to unlock the 6th gear spot for the shifter, which can be done without hacking it but most people simply just take a hacksaw at it... not a good thing.

The rsx 6spped tranny on a k20a3 is cool but it will not make your car much if any faster, you CAN however make the addition of rsx tranny without having to swap the computer but it will simply not work properly and it will not run for too long befor it poops out on you!

honestly its not really worth the trouble! if you want more power from the a3 engine get hondata kpro and find a suitable map for your bolt ons, if you decide to get a turbo kit then you canuse the kpro as well considering that hondata has made a map for it.

you want real n/a power get rsx-s enginem, the k24 from a crv has fitting problems and the k24a2 from a tsx with vtec can be a hassle to get it to work properly, even with kro which will be needed to replace the ecu.

hope this all helps, hehe i have not been on any kseries related website ina while so there may now be people doing new things i have not heard/read about, but thats my shot at it

** if you want power the rev hard kit and the cybernation kit are great kits that provide awesome power**

the greddy kit is good, but it just doest run too high, the cn and rev hard kits, i belive put out well over 300+hp with teh fmic. while the greddy kit does about 250 without the fmic and @300 with it.**

este u no longer have to just get a rsxs tranny to get a 6 spd, u just gotta get some oem parts for one and u can convert ur 5spd si tranny to 6 spd. supposed to be pretty simple and easy for a tranny expert too.
