I have an automatic '98 Civic HX and was thinking about going turbo, but I was wondering if turboing an automatic would be really shitty or if it would actually be worth doing. Because I can't afford to convert it to manual so if it's really that stupid I just won't do it.

in my experience its not worth it to turbo and automatic. first it would be better to save and do an engine swap. thats just my opinion. u also should build the motor before you turbo(should) but some people can make it work. but then again i just really like driving manual except in traffic. the best advice i can offer you is to just save save save.

Sure, you can turbo the automatic. Don't expect to be as fast as the manual guys, and don't go for too much power over what a typical kit can make your engine push at stock boost levels. The automatics tend to be weak in Civics.

If you want to swap to manual, it's relatively easy to get a manual transmission into your car.

About the manual conversion...About how much would a manual tranny cost for my car?...What else would I need to buy to complete the conversion?..Sry about the questions, I'm a complete noob.

You'd need the transmission, clutch, flywheel, hydraulic clutch parts (lines, slave cylinder), clutch pedal/linkage, shifter, shift linkage. The tranny isn't too expensive...you should be able to find a used one for a couple hundred.
