b/c if all you wanted was 200 hp you could get that with your stock engine w/ stock internals. if you want more than that without having to build your engine then you should swap.

Let me rephase my statement then. If you want more than 200 hp out of a SOHC engine, it would be better to swap then to build up that engine, better platform to build on, and only slighty more expensive than building up the SOHC engine (sleeves, pistons, rods)
Is this a valid statement or do you disagree? |

Well after hearing many diffrent point of views I have went full circle and have decided to do an engine swap. I have to save up for a while so first I will work on sound system, suspension, exhaust and interior, i figure by the time I am all done with that my current engine will have a decent amount of miles on it and a swap would add much more life to my car than more power. This will also give me more time to do research, figure out what engine will fit my needs, save up some money. If there is anyone with a SOHC turbo setup I still would like to hear your side but I think I agree with SimpleGreen and the other guys: Bottom line- Swap

you got it, and on the plus side a dohc handles boost levels much better on stock internals over the sohc. Such as the rods etc..
I'm actually going with a LS motor, not much more power on the stock platform but when I swap the head for a vtec one It'll put me right where I wanna be. all for under about $3k |

Doughboy what do you mean by LS motor, what is the engine code. Also did not know you could swap the head for a vtec one. Where are you going to buy the LS motor and vtec head for your setup Dougboy?
