I garage my hatch from Nov to about March or April depending on what im working on durring the winter and how the weather is here. The 4dr is my daily driver, which i just got, but ill still have to be carefull with it in the snow as i just got a c/f lip, and it is getting lowered this weekend.

the fwd is nice in the snow, but makes it harder to do dognuts.
<div align="right"></div>
Thats y you throw it in reverse. Or the e-brake works pretty well around here in our vacant mall parking lot. |

<div align="right"></div>
reverse 180's is what it is all about, and to be honest its not hard to pop the back end out, nothing like in a rwd, but a lil snap of the e brake and a cut of the wheel sends my hard sideways like a champ. ill take some videos this year and post some of em up, last year we had one where my buddy is holding the camera straight at a pole, the all u see is me and my car come sliding by completly sideways, and fly through the picture, it was a great on. oh yea, and figure eights are sick as well!!! |

Since "how to do donuts in the snow" has NOTHING to do with the original question or topic of this thread....
Typically i DO NOT drive my cars in the winter.Even if i had still had my license i still would not drive my cars in the winter. This is why i buy a beater. IMO i would drive your Lumina for the winter. It is best to have a beater for the winter for two main reasons: 1. Keeps your project/summer car out of the winter elements, snow sluch and all that other mess! 2. Keeps your project /summer car out of hazardous winter driving and an increased risks of getting into an accident. If you do drive your car in the winter,i would never put a kit on it. Typically they will not hold up to the weather conditions as well as good ol OEM plastic. Put winter tires on your stock rims. If you are that worried about your CAI,take it out. Removing it will then set you at ease and will be one less thing to worry about. This is the reason i prefer short ram intakes over CAI. |
I think if you're into playing with dog's nuts, you would be able to do it more easily in the winter because the dog spends more time in the house. Quote:
Not all carbon fiber is created equal. If all carbon fiber was that crappy, do you think people would build airplane wings out of them? Nope. Aerospace grade carbon fiber is WAY more expensive and WAY tougher than the stuff your body kits and wings are made of... and at that, automotive aftermarket carbon fiber goodies are rarely ever 100% carbon fiber- most are fiberglass with CF on top. Your wing will probably be ok in the winter. Just don't hit it with anything, and don't let too much snow build up on it. |
Or just take off that rediculous CF wing! Kill 2 birds with one stone, take away the risk of breaking it and help by making the car look better! |
