if their JDM they wont have any numbers off the "b16" if their USDM then they have the numbers. pretty much you just should worry about getting a model to match the year generation of your car.

Further clarification... match the year of the engine with the year of your car.

I am a little unsure the diffrences between all the diffrent motors on that site. I was intrested in the b16a2, what is close to this and easiest to install in a 98 civic ex as far as JDM goes?

jdm b16a and usdm b16a2 are exactly the same when it comes to installing.
the only difference is the engine code,(b16a vs b16a2), the ecu's are slightly differently, the jdm b16a makes about 10 more hp, has a higher speed cut. i think theres some other differences. but nothing that'll effect install |

Thanks for the info.
On a side note, the LSD that is $300 extra, is this from a civic Type R, 3rd party part, or something else? Also, all the b16 on hmotorsonline have about the same horsepower and tourque 160-170, yet the prices range from $1200 to almost $4000, why would you pay that much more? They produce almost the same hp/torque, are DOCH, with VTEC. Another thing I noticed, all the b16 on hmotorsonline.com have around the same hp/touque, 160-170, but why do they have such varied prices? They range from $1200 to almost $4000. Why pay so much more when both motors produce almost the same hp, DOHC, with VTEC? |

What is your guys thoughts on paying more for newer motor, with simliar specs to the older motors.
Newer better, more durable? Better gas mileage? Older better, cheaper with just as much bang? |
