I found someone in my area selling this engine:

(this is what the ad reads)

B18A1 Motor and transmission. Micro polished and balanced crank, ac block guard, pr4 pistons, new gaskets, arp head studs and much more. $350

(end)

Now based on this information, i have been trying to decide if this is a good project for someone with my very little engine experience *other then replacing a d-engine tranny/cluch 2 times* to undertake?

I would probably make this my project for a while, like save money and buy parts, to make the engine better. But I am wondering if this is just a money hole? Should I wait for a different motor to come around and work on that? or should i look into getting this one?

I have a 98 civic DX, so i am not sure exactly all that I would need to get to make this work in my car. Since I do want, AC, PS, ect... I know I need a OB0 ECU, motor mount kit. And new engine harness. What else would I need if I was to get this engine and put it in? Well thanks for the help!

not to mention it's technically an illegal swap... engine has to be as old or newer than your car...

Agreed with above. You wouldn't need the ECU/Harness, you can use your stock harness, and run an OBD2 LS ECU...the obd0 won't work in your car. However, as they said above, it's illegal due to manufacture year, and it has a cable tranny instead of hydraulic. Look for B18B or a B20B/Z.

At the end of the month, i'm buying a new car, just closed a huge deal at work, so i'm gonna buy another hatch most of the ones around here have swaps already so i'll probably get one with a ls swap or something and drop my gsr in there, so i should have a swap with a cable trans that i'll be looking to sell soon, I'll keep you posted. My reasoning for buying one swapped already is that i'll most likely get a suspension and exhaust that way and save a little money

I think a hydro swap would be better for my car, since its already has a hydro tranny and stuff. So i dont think i want a cable tranny.. correct?
