I have a 96 Civic EX sedan, and I looked up the VIN number and it is registered as having a VTEC engine. However, on the engine block there is no VTEC stamp. So, is my Civic VTEC or no?

thanks, ill check it
There isnt a VTEC stamp on the valve cover. Is there anywhere else on the car that would tell me its VTEC status? Nevermind, I found the engine model number: D16Y8. Definitely VTEC, thanks for the help.

if nothing else the easiest way to tell is if it has a VTEC selenoid on the motor, which would be located on the head.
