First problem I has is that my speedometer does not work (I posted this questions like 8 months ago), it sticks at around 20 mph, then suddenly will go up and down, sometimes even working. I replaced the VSS (Vehicle Speed sensor) since I was told by numerous people that this was the best guess. Well it did not work, I had a friend hook a reader to the computer and the mph came up. What is the next likely cause, I was thinking the speedo head but could it be an electrical problem as well?
Second I posted a question a couple of weeks ago about my CAI and changing the filter. I was just wondering if it would be best to change it out. It makes a ton of noise, I thought CAI would only make LOUD noise at high RPMs, I am getting the noise at around 3.5 RPM. Wondering if this is do to the filter being so dirty or a possible tear in the fabric. I like the noise but I dont want my car to sound like a stock car as I am driving 5mph through WalMart parking lot. Thanks in advance |

well, your first question i thought i answered a while ago... I had the EXACT same problem, speedo was sticking at 20mph... and i said it was the speedo head... Yeah, just get one from a junkyard and put it in, it's like 20 bucks and takes maybe half an hour to do.
As for the intake, I don't have one but those intakes should be cleanable... so if you think it's dirty wash it, or if it's just a generic one then try getting a good K&N filter... that should help ya out.

$20 bucks, wow that cheap, I will start to make some calls. How much will I expect to pay for some nice looking aftermarket ones?

How much would I expect to pay for the entire gauge cluster, I may have trouble just getting the speedo head.
