Nope no check engine light. Seems that I only get the shuddering when I am in a high gear and the rpms are low (1500-3000) and really push the engine. Some days are worse then others, just added some engine gas treatment, I hope that works.

BTW no smell, another sign I read that the clutch is going.

Just read something on throwout bearings, dont know much about them but could this be a possible problem.

Did not mention this befor but maybe it will help, when I let off the gas the car makes a unuasally loud noise, sound almost like grinding, this happens unless I either give the engine a bit of gas or ride the clutch a bit. Always though it was my CAI but maybe its the bearing I mention above?

I'd start with the fuel filter. Bad fuel filters cause sputtering and sluggishness like you describe.

Just had a mechanic look at it, clutch is going, mainily the throwout bearing. Going to have a clutch kit put in. Thanks for all the advice.

BTW was thinking of having the timeing belt replaced as well. Car has about 85,000 miles on it, do you think I should go ahead and have them do this while I got the car in the shop? If I do I dont think I will be able to afford the hood replacement, but I got to have a car thats going to be reliable enough to get me to work.

Tough choice for me here, really had my eyes on that carbon fiber hood but torn about some proactive maintiance as well.

Absolutely...timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner.
