here's a question for everyone out there in civicland. if you were to take my D16Y7 bottom block, and put, say, a D16A1 head or a DOHC ZC head on it, what kind of power do you think i would make? would it even work out? i've never seen this done before...i read in one of my car mags before that most D-Series engine parts are interchangeable between the D-Series, like their much more powerful B-Series and K-Series cousins. i was just wondering, just for cheap horsepower. i'm kinda bouncing between the mini-me Y7 to Y8 head swap, or a LS or B20 swap. i think i'm gonna go with the LS or B20 swap cause a complete motor costs around the same. i have dreams of a cr-vtec sitting in my ferio's engine bay some day. but this is just a gee whiz type of question. thanks for any input anyone may have...and no negative people either, i hate that crap. if you're gonna flame, flame elsewhere.=) aloha.

well...you cant..., one bolt hole is off...You can however put a y8 or z6 vtec head on and make a bit more power. if you use the zc pistons with a y8 head it will net you somewhere in the neighbor hood of 13:1 compression.

thanks for the input.=) i figured it wouldn't work, but like i said it was just a gee whiz question.=) but yah, i'm thinking of starting with a B20, and then eventually doing the Vtec head swap...and then maybe doing forced induction w/ that motor way way way down the line.=) thanks again folks.
