Hello Ya'll,
I just sold my 98 trans am to UPGRADE to an 05 civic hybrid. now, all i need to know is everything, but i'll try to narrow my scope a bit. I drive the car for its economy, so suspension upgrades and that sort are out of question, however, performance upgrades that positively impact economy are right in my wheelhouse. My biggest problem starting out is that I can't seem to find much info about moding my hybrid. Because of the 1.3L engine, i'm worried about buying an exhaust or intake system. These are the two primary directions i'm thinking, however, coming from GM, I may be going about moding my Honda in the wrong way. Help a convert see the light. Thanks bros

ps Nice boards ya'll got here, friendly and informative, and a few of you guys know a shocking amount of info about our little rides.

I really dig the car, and the mpgs are great. however, after popping the hood and taking a look at the airbox and that restrictive intake, i dont know how putting a new air intake and filter could hurt anything, not even the warranty. so, what do you think? any idea about compatibility?

I agree, not to mess with it too much performance wise, if you decide to replace the filter with a k&N Cone, add an exhaust etc, please keep us informed if you notice any performance gains. Perhaps subtle cosmetics or audio would be recommended for the commutes. Hybrids are relatively new to the market so in turn, there won't be hardly any or if any parts available yet so you may need to concoct something. I am sure in the next 5-10 years most cars will be Hybrids in one way or another and modding Hybrids will be the norm but for now, I say enjoy the great mileage.
