Post help swap question

I have a 1995 lx(d15b7) sedan automatic I been wanted to upgrade my engine but decided I'd rather swap my engine if its possible but I don't know which engine fits my CAR. I would like Sohc v-tech and in the d series automatic if there is one . Don't want a Dohc. can someone plez help me. any info will be helpfull thanx

almost any Honda SOHC motor will fit in your civic. well, D-Series motors at least. i would reccommend a D16Y8 or a D16Z6. both are Vtec sohc motors. and they can be had in an automatic tranny. you can find a good used Y8 for great prices. you could also just swap on the vtec head from either a Z6 or a Y8...but i reccommend finding a whole motor...you may even be able to use your original auto tranny, but i reccommend getting a tranny made for the vtec motor you are looking at. the Y8 came in the civic EX from 96-00...and the Z6 was offered in the 92-95 civic, as well as the del sol. good luck, and i hope you find what you're looking for. you can also check out D-series.org for more D-Series related questions. the folks on there can point you in the right direction. just tell 'em 97-ferio sent ya. hope i helped you out.

Koo thanx.for you're help and info but how about the tranny someone told that there's an Si tranny that its automatic but iam not sure if there just bullshitting me
