What Happened? Help Plz

Well I was merging on a highway did not realize my honda was in D3. (It is automatic) And I accelerated and I obviously hit redline and then I realized it and put it in D4 and then the car began to make funny noises and was struggling at 5 RPM's at about 70. s I pulled over to check it out. It appearede nothing was wrong. Then when I started it whenever I would accelerate it was jerking and sounded as marbles were bouncing in my engine moreover I continued to drive and then it began to smoke alot and as I was pulling off then road and into a parking lot it shut off its self. When I got out off the car the was a long trail of oil I lossed . I had it towed to Honda and the guy who towed it said it look like I blew the rear main seal. Any one know what happened I just want to prepare my self before Honda calls in morning.
