crx hf trany swap

Can I use the trany or transaxle from my crx HF 1991 and bolt it up to a 91 SI engine, engine is currently in a 91 civic wagon.
I want the mpg of the HF in the wagon with the SI power!
I drive mostly highway and miss the 40+ mpg of the HF.
Any help is appreciated!
