are you still running the stock D16Y7 exhaust manifold? if so, just replace it with either a new factory one, or shop around for aftermarket ones that look/function similar to stock. when you start doing mods to the engine, that's when you should start worrying about high flow cats, a new header and such...our motor, the Y7, is pretty limited on aftermarket support...but D16Y8 parts work great on a Y7...i'm still running a Y7 but i have a Y8 skunk2 intake manifold, Y8 Megan Racing header, high flow cat, K&N 69 series CAI in short ram configuration. let me know if you need some helpful info about the D16Y7. mine is due for a VTec head swap one of these days oh, and welcome to the forums, hope that you enjoy your time here.

You Know I just put a new Motor and trans in it, and I went back to stock no V-tec. I baught this car for the Mileage I could get out of it. There was most of the engine and suspension mods before I got it, the car needed alot of TLC so I took it to the next level which is what you see in my Sig. 9K in Electronics, leather interior, seat heaters, good thing I ran the Company that does all that stuf lol. How do I figure out what motor I have? and yes there is an after market header on it, I also found out there is a Universal Cat on it aswell and is functioning fine. I do plan on upgrading my Intake, I have a short ram on it right now and Im not sure what it is so im thinking of going with an AEM short ram I can get one for about $133 new list is $220.

look on the block, there is a flat area on it with a code stamped on it. that will tell you what kind of motor you have. i would go with the aem cai rather than the short ram. just my opinion.

sounds like you're on the right track with your car...she's pretty=). BTW, see the pics below, and it should help you to find out which motor you have in there.=)

and you should find this in the encircled area on the sample picture...of course, your's should say D16Y7, or whichever motor it is in the spot pictured below.

these pics are for educational purposes, and I know that they are 2 different motors=)
