SO yeah... im gonna buy a new 80 gig HD for my XBOX.. so i can mod the piss out of it.. and have assloads of games. I dont need anything top of the line or whatever.. but not something thats gonna crap out on me really soon. I need something i can pick up at bestbuy/circuitcity.

The options i see are
Seagate
Maxtor
PineTechnology
Acomdata and,
Western Digital.

I think i remember some one saything that they got a Seagate.. and were pleased with it. My memory sucks.. so i dunno. Thanks guys.

I got a 160g western digital for my pc, and I have had no problems. I put it in about 5-6 months ago.

i dunno bout xbox, but in pc's, dont go western digital, they will give absolutely no warning before shutting down on you. Between Maxtor and seagate, i really dont know which one is better, but I personally would choose seagate.

but computer parts change so fast, sometimes its best to get the lastest reviews from professionals like PC World.

i've heard of maxtor but i think whatever is a good deal. my dad doesn't have a preference and he is always building computers. haha i went to staples with him yesterday and he pickedu p a photo printer just cause it was 50 bucks. He was a good boy though. they didn't have the dvd burner that was on sale. managed to get out of the store with just the printer.

maxtor seems to be prety reliable.
aword ofcaution do not use ibm drives on lap tops they are shit and cant handle any small bump.
I had a maxtor on my mp3 pc and while moving it to my newer pc I was pulling so hard that it snapped out of the pc case and slammed against the door of the closet in the media room and yes, its still humming away without any problems.

There you go. Western Digital had a bad batch of drives from Malaysia about 4-5 months ago, but that's been resolved. If you want to be safe, just get a Seagate or Maxtor drive. I haven't had any problems with my current WDs, and neither has my roommate.
