I looking around for a new car, my brother being an idiot that is he crashed his car and i may sell him mine, and get a new car. Looking strongly at the RSX Type-S. I know people who speak highly of Acura, but they aren't real car people like some of the people on here who work in the industry, so I'm asking you all what you think about this car. My other choice was a Impreza STi but its a little out of my price range right now :P. The STi is around 33k while the RSX is 22k. Not as powerfull but just looking for a well built car.

Thanks all.

I was going to tell you to jump all over it for 22Gs but . .
I was thinking of an NSX!
There is a guy a few miles away from me with one of those and it's out of freakin hand!!!
As for the RSX, I'm not too schooled on them. My friend Luke has a Legend and he loves it . . The rsx is pretty much a sportier version of that I'd assume so I don't think that you'd have any complaints at all.

Good luck deciding . . .

YESS get a white one and go JDM =D. That's what I wanted to do but it was too expensive. If you're looking to get speed out of the car though, you might want to reconsider. I think the RSX is geared more towards luxury than speed. It's pretty heavy.

*drool* I've seen a few of these in person in Singapore..what a work of art

how much are the older imprezas? why dont you fix one of those up? i agree, if youre looking for speed, the RSX wouldnt really be the way to go unless youre willing to drop some cash on it. and then again like cam said its pretty heavy too. so youd end up spending the $ to make it fast anyway. id say get what speaks to you , you know what i mean. if you like imprezas, then get one of those

Not so much for speed, this is going to be a car that i have for like 5-8 years. It needs to be able to last a long ass time, thinking if i got a Used impreza that by the 4th year or so of me owening it. I would be replaceing everything on that car. I have a long time off though to decide about 5 months so im in no rush or anything just want to get alot of information and talk to people first.

6th gen si Curb Weight: 2601 lbs.
rsx-s Curb Weight: 2767 lbs.

not much heavier than any 6th gen si, I guess the 166lbs in difference are due to the leather and other comfy stuff.

rsx-s has plenty of power
6th gen SI hp: 160hp
rsx-s hp: 200hp

scoobies are bad ass dont get me wrong but I think the car is a bit overpriced.

the maint. cost and part replacing/ordering will kill you. thats when and if it breaks , but why take the risk?

if you want some more information on the rsx you can go browse k-series.com(dont join and leave here now )

I wanted to get the 98-01 Impreza sedan and swap in an STI block before I got my Civic. The blocks themselves aren't expensive, but I'd imagine the labor would be very pricey, not to mention less reliable. RSX parts are more readily available and cheap too.
