Tried to take some pics of my car tonight since i just brought it home.. and one out of 17 came out enough for me to use it. the rest came out blurry or very dark..
I thought i had enough light and i was playing with alot of the options on the camer for night time pics.. but non really helped.. The Camera Is a nikon coolpix 3100 and here is the one pic i wasn't happy with but best outta them all http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid9...65/f9f4cfec.jpg

Your cammera has to be held still because at night the Shutter has to be held open much longer than in day. You can brighten it up with a flash or get a tripod to hold the cammera steady.

here's a really good web-site for begining photography.. keep in mind the same rules apply to your digital as a silver halide camera.

This site's also very good. It goes into more detail about digital camera's and car shots.

steady is good! i always find a ledge or curb or something to set my camera on. i have the old ass sony mavica if anyone is familiar. its HUGE so i can angle it while its on the ground by propping up the front end with rocks and whatnot. sounds halfassed, but whatever does the trick! also try sitting on your ass with your knees in the air, rest camera on a knee, hold your breath, click the button. lol. im an amateur!

HAHA thats the same thing i do... def. use a tripod and always go to place with more light than you usually need...and if it comes out too light, darken the image with photoshop...

ok.. well the camra also has a 10 second delay start.. that would allow me to put it somewhere so i don't have to hold it.
