Dsm Value Vs. Honda Value

i got bored and was looking around on edmunds.com and found this pretty interesting.

1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse:
GS-T Turbo Styles (TMV? Dealer Retail: $9,400)
2 Dr GS-T Turbo Hatchback
GSX Turbo Styles (TMV? Dealer Retail: $12,533)
2 Dr GSX Turbo AWD Hatchback

1999 Honda Civic:
Si Styles (TMV? Dealer Retail: $12,374)
2 Dr Si Coupe

a FWD 160HP SI is worth only $200 less than an AWD Turbo 210hp GSX. now that says something about honda i know it might not be that accurate, but i thought the gsx was worth a lot more.

gsx are the biggest pos's out there. they have so many problems. my friend has to sell his because he has had $8k worth or repairs and he's only had it since august. Its fast as shit but way too many problems.

you gotta remember that most of the problems you hear about are due to their owner's running the cars into the fucking ground.

After all, the car's got alot to it in terms of mechanics: turbo, all the piping, all-wheel-drive, etc.

Combine that with a shit driver behind the wheel and things can break real easy.

i think he is refering to the lack of reliablilty on the DSM part.

this car was at my house last week..

great shape, but as you drive, the interior pieces rattle off... no joke, clips pop out of holes and shit. hes always replacing bolts and things. his passenger side airbag rattles like a damn baby toy. drove me freaking insane.

we put a turbox BOV on it when he first got it and the sonovabitch threw the engine check light. they just seem like a bastard to mod CORRECLTY. you take the recirulation valve off the stock BOV and it wont idle. i met a kid last week that had a 1G AWD. he had the EVO 8 turbo, but couldnt get past 4,500 rpms. 2 words... FUEL CUT.
