recently, since i decided to sell my civic, ive been longing for a RHD honda. i found on in canada and would like to get geared up in case i buy it.

i was just curious how one goe about getting the car registered and insured and stuff, if it doesnt have a VIN. after all, whats the point of having a RHD honda if you cant drive it and bug people out.

please let me know.

Use it to deliver mail?

You might want to check with your local DPS or DOT- they should have all the regulations on hand that you need to meet. I don't think it matters that it's RHD- what really matters is that it's from another market from outside the US.

it has to pass a saftey inspection, and meet all smog requirements of the vehicle as if it were a US car, which means it has to have charcoal canister, cat., pcv all that good stuff then has to pass the sniffer test. oh and then theres import fees, since your bringing it from canada, basically not worth it....just convert your honda to right-hand-drive.

DAMN,wouldn't that be more expensive? By time you find a donor car and labor etc.. you prob could have the car already.

thats what i was thinking. plus after spending all that money to make it RHD, its still not a true RHD jdm car.

as far as importing it, im gonna meet the seller half way and drive it home. hopefully i can at least get my hands on the car, then once i actually have it, i'll worry about putting it on the road.

k you guys go check up on import fees...BTW they arent small...why do you think a skyline goes from a $40,000 to being in excess of 55 or 60gs?? It is not cheap to import a car...period. from canada or elseware.
